If you created a Kepner-Tregoe chart to decide what shoes to wear this weekend,  Brian Atwood would come on top for height and comfort requirements.  Yes, those stacked loafers (Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang) look so comfy (relatively, natch), but you can't pair them with just anything.  The gold python pumps will be mine. I  also quite like the quilted, black patent leather.  I believe they are from the Pre-Fall 2011 Collection....

Mother's Day

I just read a  feature that the New York Times published about fashion designers and what their mothers wore.  It's alway fascinating to get the inside scoop on how stylists and designers get inspired, especially what strikes their fashion fancy at an early age.   To this day,  I still find new items rummaging through my mother's jewelry boxes and storage bins  in the attic.  Check out the the slideshow!

Alexander Wang Backpack

I carry a LOT of shit  everyday, so I'm always on the hunt for an elegant belt bag (errr, some people call it a fanny pack) or  a chic little backpack to take take load off my ailing back. I stumbled across this item and subsequently dying to put my stuff in this thing.  Adore the zippered detailing. This Alexander Wang number does look like a miniature of my Triple Five Soul backpack, which cost about $800 less!  Man, style comes at a price...

 

Cacharel Shades

Heritage and camel are all the rage, but there's nothing like wearing bright color to put some cheer in your day. These canary yellow Cacharel statement sunglasses are a bit theatrical, but should do the trick.

I have the snifflies this Saturday and engaging in the healing properties of online retail therapy/browsing. Came across these Lanvin wedge boots at Net-a-Porter:

LOVE! But, I'll probably end up with these 80%20 boots:

Save? 80%20's $195 Jackie Hidden Wedge Pebble Grain Black Boots

Not a bad substitute, eh? The Lanvin's are sleeker and the leather looks buttery.  The 80%20 boots are more boho and casual.  Zappos had the "Jackie" on sale for $137 in a mugly putty hue.

L.A.M.B.

Me likey.

I've been pretty impressed with Gwen Stefani's shoe line over the last few seasons.  I particularly like L.A.M.B.'s  Tammy Open Toe Banded Pump. The style is on trend, but the zippered detail behind the heel gives them edge.  

Gotta love hardware on a shoe.
