Lost and Found Table and Stools

 Very whimsical and fun pieces, designed by & MADE that would liven up any drab apartment. A  mixed construction of solid timbers and cast-off furniture pieces, the stools "reflect the throw-away culture of today".  I love how the rustic and refined design elements play against each other.  

Your stockings could get ruined if caught on the sides of the stool, but only in the colder months! Looks like they are only available in the UK. Drat.

Simple Pleasures

Domestic bliss. 

Designed by Swedish artist, Lotta Kuhlhorn, these towels beat the faded ones I have hanging limp on my refrigerator handle and would absolutely sing in any  kitchen... 

"Her inspiration comes from close to home. 1970’s cupboard paper, housecoats and aprons, bed linens and tablecloths. Simple, striking, familiar shapes form the basis of her illustrations and patterns. It’s a technique that she continues to refine, always striving for that delicate balance between professional polish and keeping it simple."

The brilliant color and strong graphics stand out, similar to this striking Marimekko print.  The Scandinavian  design sensibility of  marrying form and function, turning everyday objects into art is something to be admired.

CRACK....Pie

The Crack Pie at Momofuku's Milk Bar

The woman behind the register mentioned that the pie was made of butter, cream, sugar, cornflour and maybe one or two other ingredients. I can't believe something made so simply can taste so amazing. Appropriately named and highly addictive.

Been There, Done That

This little owl's expression is perfect and priceless.  I want to create a mask of him and wear it while walking around the LES. By-product of photoshopping or not--I kinda love this site and its off-beat commentary.
